Race-Ready 1949 Lincoln Coupe Inspired by Carrera Panamericana Heads to Auction

This 1949 Lincoln Club Coupe is really something. It was built with school racing in mind and it is up for sale on Bring a Trailer right now. The people who made this car wanted it to look like the Lincolns that did well in endurance racing back in the 1950s. So they mixed American style with new racing parts.

The car is a tribute to the Carrera Panamericana race that happened in Mexico a long time ago. This race was super tough. Only the best drivers like Juan Manuel Fangio could handle it. The race helped make some cars from then really famous.
