GMC Yukon May Get Escalade-V Power for 2027 Model Year

General Motors might be planning a big performance upgrade for the 2027 GMC Yukon. New filings suggest that the full-size SUV could get the supercharged V-8 engine from the Cadillac Escalade-V.

Recently some Vehicle Identification Number data seemed to show that the Yukon would have the LT4 6.2-liter engine. This engine is an one making up to 682 horsepower. General Motors said that was a mistake and would be fixed.

People are still thinking that the Yukon could get a high-performance version. If it does it would be different from its siblings, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban. They have V-8 and diesel options.

The Yukon getting a supercharged engine would fit with GMCs history of making performance vehicles. It would remind people of cars like the GMC Typhoon. It would also make trims like Denali Ultimate and AT4 Ultimate more capable.

A supercharged Yukon could be a low-key option compared to the Escalade-V. It might even be cheaper.

For now GMC hasn’t said for sure that the upgrade is happening.. If it does the Yukon could become one of the most powerful SUVs, in its class.
